Class 4 B Visiting the Site

At present, the whole world is fighting against global warming, however, if we want to overcome climate change, we must return to the bases. We at evergreen recycling mean that, that is why we invest significant energies into the education of the next generations.

Our future is in the hands of our children – as the saying says. Although older generations identify – having not been brought up in this spirit – hardly if at all with the impacts of the “new trend” called climate change and with the respective responsibility, we deem it particularly important to bring up a more conscious and responsible generation, which, in possession of relevant information, will be able to fight for saving our planet.

We take part in raising awareness

Though the rate of recycling has improved in recent years, this is still not enough, we must prevent the next generation from committing the same faults as we did, and we must educate them to build a better and more sustainable world. To make them learn this habit in time, it is inevitable to teach children how to recycle. Our work contributes to that a lot, we maintain connection with the local kindergartens and schools, and in the framework of a special programme, or even as part of the curriculum, we regularly invite children to our site in Egyházkarcsa [Kostolné Kračany] for informative, awareness raising visits.

Elementary school pupils visited us

Last time, class 4 B of the Basic School Szabó Gyula from Dunaszerdahely [Dunajská Streda] visited us, and the staff of evergreen recycling awaited the pupils and teachers with a full-scale programme. We explained and showed the pupils of the class what an average day looks like at our waste site – of course under permanent control, observing the strict safety regulations, so the pupils were only allowed to move in a closed area. While moving around the site, we explained why recycling was important and what this process was actually about. We believe that everyone can learn easier playfully, so the education was conducted with the help of games and handicraft tasks; various tools made learning easier and more amusing. The pupils got insight into the secrets of recycling, as a matter of fact, they got backstage information. Through small tasks, they could learn how different types of waste were recycled, further, they could get a closer view at and try out the trucks and the fire engine of the firm.

Taking knowledge home

As we have experienced, the children having visited us up to now took in new information positively, and meeting it through examples of real life, they can utilise the new knowledge in their everyday life as well. Obviously, such educational programmes and the like are very important, as the fate of our planet lies in our hands, and only we can influence the future of our children and of our own environment.

So that ever more children encounter the significance of recycling, we continuously organise visits to our site where we accept groups of smaller numbers after prior agreement.
